4 Challenges High-Achieving Women Encounter in Relationships
Relationships aren’t easy. A high-achiever may often experience some of these common challenges within their relationships.
There is a lot that goes into maintaining a healthy relationship including these resources, time, energy, and effort. The demands of being a high-achiever can leave you feeling depleted of these resources when it comes to…
Challenge #1: Poor Motivation
If your partner does not seem to be as motivated as you are this can lead to feelings of frustration and even loneliness.
You perform, achieve, and execute. When you are constantly working towards something you feel a sense of pride and purpose.
It’s important to understand this may look different for your partner.
Challenge #2: Feeling Overwhelmed
There is a lot that goes into maintaining a healthy relationship such as time, energy, and effort. The demands of being a high-achiever can leave you feeling depleted and overwhelmed because there seems to always be so much on your plate.
Burnout in another area of your life can contribute to this making it more difficult to find joy in engaging in your relationships and leaving little to nothing for any partner or friends.
Challenge #3: Work Comes First
There are a few driving factors that could be showing up here but no matter the reason, the truth is if you constantly are making work the top priority ahead of everything else, eventually you will be left with just work, if you haven’t already reached burnout mode.
Fear of failure, perfectionism, constant self-doubt from imposter syndrome, or having a codependent relationship with your job or business are often culprits to the behavior.
Challenge #4: Lack of Fulfillment
High achievers typically have a high drive for motivation or forward progress.
While it’s important to slow down and enjoy the process, it can be challenging for high-achievers if there isn’t any growth happening. This may be in themselves, their partner, or the relationship as a whole.
